A Team Led by Director Zhang Qiurong Inspects CFL
On Oct.10 at 9:00 am, Zhang Qiurong, director of the Office of Academic Affairs, along with Deputy Director Zhuang Jiafang and Zhao Wangying carried out an inspection of CFL. They aimed to have an in-depth look at the CFL’s pedagogic problems and discuss some major issues concerning undergraduate education with the faculty of CFL.
The team was warmly welcomed by Shang Xin, dean of CFL, who at the meeting reviewed some problems of teaching non-English majors, compiling textbooks, and building a well-balanced faculty team.
During the meeting, they provided us with some constructive advice on teaching, which reflects their concern about our teaching practice and the building of teaching platform. The whole meeting was characterized by a heated discussion for appropriate, methodical and innovative methods of teaching, which are vital for the teaching reform at CFL and SMU as a whole.
