Recently, the “FLTRP•ETIC Cup” English Public Speaking Contest 2020 was successfully held in Room 324 of the Foreign Languages Building. This contest was hosted by the College of Foreign Languages and judged by teachers in the College including Zhang Dan, Li Fang, Liu Yang, and Fang Jianli.
The competition mainly consisted of two parts: topic speech and impromptu speech. After the preliminary selection at the school level, a total of 11 contestants stood out and entered the final. During the competition, the contestants expressed their opinions in fluent English. The two-hour competition was intense and exciting. Finally, Xu Yiteng won the Grand Prize with the unique perspective, fluent speaking, and confident performance.
The competition provided a stage for our students to fully demonstrate themselves, stimulated their enthusiasm for learning English, improved their speaking skills, and fully demonstrated the achievements of our English major and college English teaching reform.
