As the pandemic strikes the university and the city, the Party Committee of the College of Foreign Languages mobilized its students and faculty members to take an example of a Party member, and be volunteers in the work to prevent and control COVID-19.
On March 22, under the leadership of Li Pingyou, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, and Qian Minfang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, teachers from the Academic Staff Office of the College volunteered to clean the roads around the Foreign Language Building because of the campus closure and the shortage of manpower in the logistics property.
Associate Professor Li Fang from the Department of Translation lives in Jinwei Yuan, Lane 25, Chunhui Road, Gaoqiao Town, Pudong. After the neighborhood committee issued a notice to recruit volunteers, she signed up at once and took charge of the community pandemic prevention and control work for three consecutive days. The Party Committee and government of Pudong Gaoqiao Town sent a letter of appreciation to the college for her positive performance.
Members of the Business English Faculty and Staff Party Branch responded to the call of the school and community party organizations for pandemic prevention and control, and actively volunteered on the front line of community pandemic prevention and control, promoting pandemic prevention and distributing pandemic prevention materials to community households.
