Students from the College of Foreign Studies continue to volunteer for the prevention and control of the pandemic

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, students from the College of Foreign Studies have been involved in the fight against the pandemic in many ways. In recent days, more students have participated in pandemic prevention and control volunteer work around the world, letting their youthfulness bloom in the front line of pandemic prevention.

Xu Bihan from English Translation Class 171, whose hometown is Xinyang City in Henan Province, is close to Wuhan City in Hubei Province, which is the hardest hit by the pandemic. Under the severe situation of the pandemic, all controls are gradually strict, and after the Lantern Festival, every household in his community is restricted from entering and leaving. Xu Bihan volunteered to be a community buyer, believing that as a party member, it was the right time to do what she could for the people around her and to prevent and control the pandemic.

As a Party member, Zhang Lijuan, a member of Japanese Language Class 171 whose family lives in Bengbu, Anhui Province, took the initiative to apply to the community to be a volunteer for pandemic prevention in her hometown. Under the arrangement of the village committee, Zhang Lijuan became a community pandemic prevention volunteer and was responsible for the following tasks: posting a letter to the people door-to-door, publicizing pandemic prevention knowledge, registering people at necessary intersections, checking passes, and checking whether people are wearing masks and taking body temperature.

Lu Huini, a student in class 182 of English Shipping, signed up to be a volunteer and was placed at the Fengjing checkpoint in Jinshan District. Wearing heavy protective clothing and goggles with endless vapor, Lu Huini could better appreciate the hard work of pandemic prevention and admire the traffic workers.

English 192 class Zhang Yinghao's family is in a rural area of Jiaozuo, Henan Province. In order to control the spread of the pandemic, many rural areas were closed to foreigners. Zhang Yinghao participated in volunteer activities, responsible for the registration and inspection of people entering and leaving the village, discouraging outsiders from entering and visiting friends and relatives, and registering and releasing vehicles and pedestrians carrying essential supplies. Every day from 4 pm to 8 pm, the student needs to be on duty at the entrance of the village.

Zhou Yibo from the English 195 class, whose mother is the community building manager, became the deputy building manager after the outbreak. The student assisted his mother in persuading people to go home, going door to door to check the risky people, explaining the prevention and control policy, and taking everyone's temperature. And together with his mother, he contracted key prevention and control personnel, resolutely implement good isolation measures; contracted a key helper, do a good job of livelihood protection; and was responsible for collecting the residents of the building responsible for the needs of life, the summary sent to the neighborhood committee unified purchase, unified distribution.
