In order to better help the graduate students of Class 19 plan their study career, the School of Foreign Languages held a lecture on November 6 in the lecture hall of Foreign Languages Building. Professor Zhang Yan, a doctoral supervisor of the School of Foreign Languages, gave the lecture, and all graduate students of the class of 2019 attended.
In the lecture, Prof. Zhang Yan got straight to the point. Combining with his own experience of taking the doctoral examination, Prof. Zhang Yaniant analyzed the meaning, difficulties and requirements of each aspect of the doctoral examination to the students in detail. Professor Zhang hoped that students should decide whether to take the doctoral examinations according to their actual situation and personal planning; if they decided to take the doctoral examinations, they should have firm confidence, start and finish, and persevere. She also advised students who have decided to take the doctoral examination to grasp every minute from now on, to solidify their academic foundation, to do a good job in research, to determine the target institutions as early as possible, and to get in touch with the supervisors of the relevant institutions as early as possible.
Before the lecture, the student office of the college specially conducted a survey on the intention of the 19th grade graduate students to enter the doctoral program, and there were more students with the intention of pursuing doctoral degrees. This lecture has sorted out the pulse and pointed out the direction for the students who are interested in taking the doctoral examinations, and also encouraged them to continue to study in their majors.
