On October 20, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the university, the second council change meeting of the Alumni Association of the College of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Maritime University was held in the History Room of the Foreign Language Building. After that, Qian Minfang, the secretary-general of the first council of the Alumni Association of the College of Foreign Languages, gave a report on the work of the second council. The meeting considered and approved the list of the second council of the Alumni Association of the College of Foreign Languages and the Constitution of the Alumni Association of the College of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Maritime University (revised), and elected the president, vice president, secretary-general and deputy secretary-general.
Mr. Zhu Yaobin was elected as the president of the second council of the alumni association of the college. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the school leader He Li, the deputy secretary, for his close concern and support to the work of the College of Foreign Languages, his respect to the old leaders and professors who were invited to attend the meeting, and his gratitude to the alumni for their constant concern and support to the development of the school. At the end of the meeting, the alumni shared their personal experience and warmly exchanged views on the development of the college and the university. 86th alumnus Zhu Jianhui shared his own growth and life experience, recalled his study days in the old campus and expressed his gratitude for the training of his alma mater and the cultivation of teachers. 78th alumnus Ke Dong recalled his youthful years in college and expressed his excitement to return to his alma mater and his earnest expectation for the development of the university. Alumna Feng Jia Pei, class of '83, gave his insights on the career development of foreign language students and made suggestions on the cultivation of foreign language talents, while alumnus Cao Yuhai, class of '84, warmly recalled his unforgettable time in school, appreciated the school environment of the new campus and wished his alma mater better and better development. The alumni expressed their commitment to close ties, to do their best for the construction of their alma mater, and to contribute to the development of society.
