In order to better follow up the needs of employers, maintain a good employment environment, enhance academic and career planning guidance resources, develop ideas to promote learning, and improve employment services, the School of Foreign Languages' Office of Academic Affairs recently conducted in-depth visits and exchanges with employers.
On May 7, Qian Minfang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Foreign Languages, Huang Yiqing, Secretary of the Youth League Committee and counselor of undergraduate students of Grade 16 and graduate students of Grade 18, and Sun Zhikuan, counselor of undergraduate students of Grade 15 and graduate students of Grade 17 and employment officer of 2019, visited three foreign language employment counterparts, including Han Yang Group, Shanghai Xuezhi Education and Rongshang Logistics (Shanghai) Co.
During the visit and exchange activities, the college representatives focused on understanding the performance and relative advantages of students in the companies, investigated the characteristics of knowledge application and quality ability, and solicited opinions and suggestions from the relevant persons in charge of the enterprises for the training of talents in the college. The college also signed internship practice cooperation agreements with the above three enterprises, and will continue to cooperate and build up around student education practice and talent selection.
In accordance with the work objectives, the Office of Academic Affairs of the College of Foreign Languages focused on students and problems this year, and made efforts to enrich academic and career development guidance resources through a series of visits and cooperation activities, and to make practical moves in promoting learning and growth. Combined with the analysis of the academic status and graduation intention of the completed juniors, students will be targeted to recommend and guide them to enter shipping, logistics, finance, foreign trade, teaching and training, translation and other types of enterprises or institutions for 2019 summer internship. At the same time, we will also invite human resources directors of cooperative enterprises, alumni with rich career experience and other industry professionals to enter the second classroom of the college and conduct face-to-face communication with freshmen, sophomores and graduate students in the form of lectures, sharing sessions and simulation practice, in order to make breakthroughs in students' professional development orientation, industry awareness, professional character and psychological construction.
