In the afternoon of March 5, the College of Foreign Languages held an expanded meeting of the Party Committee in Room 515 of the Foreign Languages Building, chaired by Zhu Yaobin, Secretary of the Party Committee, and attended by members of the Party Committee and some functional department heads of the College.
At the meeting, Secretary Zhu Yaobin firstly conveyed the spirit of the two sessions of the National People's Congress, pointing out that the two sessions, as important events in the political life of the country, the national leaders will deliver important speeches and listen to the Premier's government report, and all teachers and students should pay attention and study in time. Secretary Zhu pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping made an important speech during his visit to the CPPCC members of the literary and social science circles, emphasizing the importance of social science and the need for all faculty and students to actively study and understand social science research to answer the issues of the times. After that, Secretary Zhu conveyed the content of Premier Li Keqiang's government work report, focusing on education work and Shanghai work, pointing out that national strategies such as the construction of the new area of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone provide opportunities for the development of the university and the college, and the college should strengthen the work of talent training on the basis of maintaining its characteristics, establish a sense of the overall situation, and further carry out all aspects of the college's work in conjunction with national strategies.
