Exchange Meeting on Postgraduate Teaching and Research Work in College of Foreign Languages

In the afternoon of August 16, the College of Foreign Languages held an online meeting on the exchange of postgraduate teaching and research work, which was presided over by Jiang Zhejie, the vice dean in charge, and attended by the heads of degree programs, instructors and teachers of classes.

Mr. Jiang Zhejie explained some of the work arranged by the Graduate School soon, communicated with instructors and teachers on several aspects such as teaching of thinking and government, degree point construction, cultivation quality, enrollment and employment, and reminded teachers to be prepared and actively adapt to the new environment. Secondly, the teachers communicated with each other about the direction of foreign language discipline and the construction of discipline team, and reminded the teachers, especially the young and middle-aged teachers, to actively follow the development trend of the discipline and strive to form substantial scientific cooperation with each other.

After that, the teachers of each degree program exchanged views on postgraduate training and research work. Ms. Mo Wei talked about the inspiration of the new liberal arts construction on graduate education and pointed out the importance of interdisciplinary research. Ms. Xu Xiuzhi shared her experience of how to strengthen interaction with students and provide comprehensive guidance to them in academic, career and personal growth. Ms. Chao Zhang detailed her experience and lessons learned in guiding students. Prof. Song Zhiping talked about the development of professional degree and put forward ten major problems in the cultivation of master's degree in translation based on what he had thought and learned as the head of the degree program for many years, which provoked everyone to think deeply. Prof. Li Huadong put forward his views on how to grasp the institutional intention and focus on the subject in order to realize the common improvement of teachers and students, and also gave some suggestions on teaching and research work.

The exchange played a positive role in forming consensus and cohesion to promote the graduate education and research work of the College of Foreign Languages.
