In the afternoon of September 10, the Multilingual Service Center of Lin-gang Special Area held the Overseas Talents Green Lin-gang Mid-Autumn Festival Friendship and Exchange Meeting, which was attended by Jiang Jing, Director of Party and Group Work Department (Human Resources Department) of Lin-gang Administrative Committee, Cai Baodi, Director of Document Management Department of Shanghai Municipal Immigration Bureau, and Zhang Yan, Dean of College of Foreign Languages. Nearly 50 overseas talents from 11 countries and regions, such as the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, attended.
He expressed that this year is the third anniversary of the establishment of Lin-gang Special Area, and he hoped that overseas talents would continue to empower the development of Lin-gang Special Area.
In the guest sharing session, the overseas talents who worked and started their business in Lin-gang Special Area shared their working and living experience in Lin-gang, and expressed that the convenient stopping policy, beautiful and pleasant natural environment and rich and complete supporting facilities made them confident and expecting for the construction of Lin-gang.
Dr. Kim Guisun, the public landscape expert of Seoul Municipal Government of Korea and deputy general manager of Shanghai Hughalin Environmental Technology Co. She introduced the knowledge of micro bonsai from three aspects: taking materials, shaping and potting. Attendees performed DIY production of micro bonsai.
As a multilingual service center contractor of Lin-gang Special Area some teachers and students of the school participated in the planning and organization of the event, providing alternate interpretation between Chinese and English, text translation and promotion services to ensure the smooth implementation of the event.
Up to now, the Multilingual Service Center of Lin-gang Special Area has held four consecutive overseas talent exchange meetings. Through the activities, it not only builds a platform for overseas talents to interact and exchange, but also strengthens the understanding of overseas talents on the innovation and entrepreneurship policies of Lin-gang, and exercises the practical ability of interpretation and translation of teachers and students of the College of Foreign Languages, promotes the development of the integration of industry, academia and research of the school, and serves the development strategy of the Lin-gang Special Area.
