In the afternoon of December 11, Overseas Talents, Feel the Hometown Charm was successfully held for overseas talents in Lin-gang Special Area. More than thirty overseas talents from more than ten countries and regions around the world attended this event.
The event focused on the beautiful new countryside in Lin-gang, leading the overseas talents to visit Haishen Village and Shuyuan, appreciate the beautiful pictures of the countryside, experience rice harvesting, fruit and vegetable picking, appreciate the culture of non-foreign heritage, taste the farming dishes and feel the achievements of rural revitalization. The foreign friends were immersed in the beauty and culture of the countryside and marveled at the thriving development and revitalization of Shanghai's countryside. Meanwhile, Haishen Village is also the hometown of Olympic champion Zhong Angel. Overseas talents visited the showroom of Zhong Angel's honorary family to learn about his growing experience and marvel at his courageous spirit.
The event was sponsored by the Immigration Service Center of Lin-gang Special Area, organized by the Multilingual Service Center of Lin-gang Special Area, and co-organized by the Youth League Committee of College of Foreign Languages. As the organizer of this event, the school actively participated in the pre-planning, promotion and organization of the event. The whole event was hosted and interpreted by teachers from the College of Foreign Languages to ensure the smooth running of the event. At the same time, two students from the school's folk band played folk music with gourd silk and pipa respectively, using music as a carrier to spread Chinese characteristic folk culture to overseas talents.
The event enabled overseas talents to understand Lin-gang, Shanghai and China, and also promoted the interaction and exchange among overseas talents, showing the achievements of rural revitalization and the pulse of Lin-gang's rapid development, and continuously empowering Lin-gang's high-quality development. At the same time, the College of Foreign Languages and Literatures has given full play to the advantages of the discipline of Foreign Languages and Literatures to further enhance the language literacy and cross-cultural communication skills of teachers and students, and promote the positive development of industry, academia, research and application.
