In the afternoon of March 29, the general election meeting of the Party Committee of the College of Foreign Languages was held in the lecture hall on the first floor of the College. The General Assembly was presided over by Liu Zhi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, and attended by Comrade Chen Li from the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the University.
The General Assembly was opened in the solemn sound of the National Anthem.
On behalf of the previous committee, Party Secretary Li Pingyou delivered a work report entitled Gathering Strength, Making Real Efforts, and Striving to Write a New Chapter of High-Quality Development of the College of Foreign Languages. The report reviewed the struggle of the Party Committee of the College in the past six years, and sorted out the achievements of the Party Committee of the College in the past six years in terms of strengthening the political construction, ideological construction, organizational construction, institutional construction and the construction of party style and clean government, and put forward the goals for the next five years in the areas of academic and professional construction, faculty construction, teaching reform, scientific research, industry-university research, security and stability, student work, party construction and ideological work, etc. The goal of the next five years was proposed. Li Pinyou said that under the guidance of Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, the college will uphold the fundamental task of establishing moral education, align with the Party's education policy and the spirit of the second party congress of the university, promote the development of the business with the inspection and rectification, continuously strengthen the construction of the Party, remember the original mission, firm ideals and beliefs, educate people for the Party and the country, and build a high-level foreign language college with outstanding advantages in international schooling and distinctive maritime language characteristics. We will make unremitting efforts to build a high-level college of foreign languages with outstanding international advantages and distinctive maritime language characteristics, and write a new chapter in the development of the College of Foreign Languages on the journey of building a high-level maritime university with global influence.
After consideration, the party members unanimously passed the work report of the Party Committee of the College. At the same time, the report on the collection, use and management of party fees of the Committee of the College of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Maritime University was considered and adopted.
The General Assembly voted to adopt the election methods and the list of supervisors, and explained the candidates of the next Party Committee. The General Assembly adopted the secret ballot for the election by secret ballot. After all the party members voted and the scrutineers announced the counting results: Liu Zhi, Li Fang, Li Pingyou, Xu Xiuzhi, Guo Haixia, Jiang Zhejie, Mu Congjun and other 7 comrades were elected as members of the new CPC Shanghai Maritime University College of Foreign Languages Committee.
The general election meeting was successfully closed in the majestic International Anthem.
After the meeting, the newly elected members of the Party Committee held the first plenary session. The meeting elected the secretary and deputy secretary of the party committee by secret ballot and clarified the division of responsibilities of the party committee members.
