In the 2023 Women's Civilization Post selection activity held by the Shanghai Municipal Committee of China Education Trade Union and Shanghai Municipal Women's Education System Working Committee, the Multilingual Service Center team of Shanghai Maritime University China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Lingang New Area (hereinafter referred to as Multilingual Service Center) won the honorary title of Women's Civilization Post.
As an important part of the Immigration Service Center of Lingang New Area, the Multilingual Service Center was jointly established by the College of Foreign Languages of the University and the Party and Mass Work Department (Human Resources Department) of the Administrative Committee of Lingang New Area. Since its establishment in 2021, the multilingual Service Center has given full play to its advantages of multilingual and cultural communication, planned and organized international events and conferences, provided a variety of translation and interpretation services, and consulted and promoted the international construction of Lingang New Area, enhanced the international influence of Lingang New Area, and realized the sound development of university production, university, and research.
Up to now, the multilingual service center has carried out 15 medium and large-scale activities, serving up to 1,000 overseas talents and more than 2,000 hours of activity service. More than 300 teachers, students, and volunteers participated in the organization, planning, and language service, and the activities were widely praised by the Lingang Management Committee and the society.
Through the multilingual service Center platform, the school will continue to give full play to the advantages of foreign language disciplines, teachers, and cross-cultural communication, carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, tell the story of the development of Lingang New Area and Shanghai in multiple languages, promote the international construction of Lingang New Area, carry out international innovation collaboration, and make more contributions to the sound development of production, university, and research.
